Inserting images

Feel a bit daft asking this...

I can't insert images into articles or modules in the Clarity template. I can insert as usual no problem. However, on saving somehow some erroneous /" are added into the code, breaking the image link.
I tried JCE editor and same problem.

Would appreciate any help!

Yup, you were spot on. Thanks for that, it is not a problem I've come across before and I was beginning to wonder if I'd somehow mucked up the initial installation somehow.
Tried the php.ini and .htaccess fixes but in the end the hosts had to sort it.
