Hello .. hello. I pray that everyone is safe and coping well under Isolation with Covid-19.

Ciaran,

I'd like to insert some custom code on one of the pages I'm using with this beautiful Privilege.. that I am determined to finish.. and use some of the other templates I have purchased from you.

The foundation you have offer us via your templates are so perfect. I want to add a design element that I found and it's comprised of HTML, CSS and JS in order to work. I have inserted the HTML via Custom HTML Advanced. I inserted the CSS code under Template page Custom CSS, but I have no idea where to insert Javascript. I'm wondering if I have to create a special file, but then I don't know how to insert it into the page.

I have installed Joomla JS and CSS plugins but I don't get it so I'll probably uninstall them. I'm currently trying to review instructions on joomla.org forum. Hopefully you can offer some insight for me.

THANK YOU.

A

Hello

Probably the quickest and easiest option is to wrap your JS in script tags and place it in the Cusotm Code field of your template settings. Something like the following...

<script>
document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function() {

// YOUR CODE HERE

});
</script>

Creating a timeline module has been on the cards for us for a while... I will make sure it is our next endeavor :)

Ciaran,

WHOOO HOOO.. I have another one that is soooo important to me like a background of a Coming Soon page. Since I am so in love with your templates, I can use timeline extension for so many designs.

OK I will try the script, but I tried that with HTMLAdvanced as an insert.. but it didn't work.

Also one of the major reasons it's taken me so long to finish my site.. bc I'm so determined to make it work. I've also tried to improvise with the J51 Hover module and it would probably work, but I had to think too hard about it.

THANK YOU.. Let me try your suggestion

Hi A

Would you have a URL to the pen you wish to add to your site?

Thank you

A couple of things worth noting about your codepens.

1. The vertical timeline requires both a newer version of jQuery than what is included with Joomla and also requires the scrollreveal JS library to function (https://scrollrevealjs.org/pricing/).

2. The horizontal timeline also requires a newer version of jQuery than what is included with Joomla. You may wish to install a jQuery extension like 'jQuery Easy'.

Ciaran,

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've always had and currently have the current version of jQuery Easy 2.24 but will update to new version.

Are you interested in designing something similar as an extension plugin or module and I am willing to pay for it.

But, in the meantime, can you advise me on how to embed the JS code? I use custom html advanced to embed html code and template page custom css to embed the css code. Where do I embed the JS code for the template page?

Thanks much
