Hi Ciaran
I am just working on Impulse template for a new project. Have following issues pls:

1) Background size - what is the best size for this image? I notice that even your demo does not stretch all the way across on the ipad mini (landscape).

2) Fitting ipad mini (landscape) - the tail end of my menu (right hand side) is off screen so the whole thing is not adapting to the correct screen size. It is better, but not perfect, in portrait.

3) Responsive - my responsive menu is only showing the top half of the word 'Home'

4) Background IE8+9 - my background image gets crunched (height-wise) with IE8+9. I tried a fix you had posted - #body_bg {background-size: auto !important;} - but it does not change the height issue. I see it happening with your demo too but is less obvious due to your choice of background image.

Could you pls let me know if there are any fixes to the above - I love the template by the way except for these niggles.

Hi Chris

We have updated our Impulse template ameding a number of your issues. To apply this update download your template from your 'My Downloads' and re-install the template.. Presuming you have made no changes to the core template files, none of your template settings and styles will be lost.

1. The background-size CSS property of your background image is by default set to 'cover'. This scales the background image to be as large as possible so that the background area is completely covered by the background image. The bigger the size of image you use, the better quality your background image will be however your file size will in turn increase.

Issues 2, 3 and 4 should be amended with the update.

That is brilliant - thank you Ciaran. I have one more query pls....

My logo is too big on a portrait phone. I see you very kindly have provided a box for custom CSS but can you advise if I can use this to bring up a different logo image (logo-resp.png). And what I need to write!! Thanks Ciaran.

Hi Ciaran
thanks for your reply - that tutorial seems to refer to use of text logo. I am using a logo.png and it does not change when I add that text. I was wondering if I could make a smaller logo image (logo1.png) and tell the site to use that for portrait phones, perhaps? But I don't how to do that! Could you point me in the right direction please. Many thanks.

The tutorial is for an image logo rather than text. Would you have a URL to an example of your logo?

For what screen size would you like to change your logo?

Problem solved. I had put the code from the tutorial into the Responsive custom CSS boxes and it did not work but have just put it into the main template parameters Custom CSS and works fine. Thanks for your help and for a great template.
