Hello there,

I've just started using the Image Hover extension, and have a couple of initial questions:

- the rest of my website images is styled with the bootstrap "thumbnail" class. Can you please describe how I can apply this style to the gallery images?
- currently the images have a plus-circle on hover. Could you please describe how I can change this icon
- lastly, I understand this is a "hover" gallery. But on future projects, on the hover, I may not wish to display an icon nor text. What would I need to stop or "hide" the hover effects? It would be nice to have a "none" option on the image hover effects.

Thanks for your help,
Marc

Hi Marc

1. Would you have a URL to an example of both your imagehover module and an image using the 'thumbnail' class.

2. You will need to create an override for the module and replace the SVG code with that of your choice. If you are unfamiliar with creating overrides in Joomla, may I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will create the override for you. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email. Also, state the icon you wish to use instead.

3. An excellent suggestion, we will add this feature to the next update of the ImageHover module.

Thank you Marc

To repeat what was mentioned in our reply..

Once you create an override you can both add the 'thumbnail' class and replace the SVG icon code. Overrides are added to the template and will not be replaced if you update the module. To create a override for your module....

Navigate to Extensions -> Extensions -> Templates
Click the template you have enabled
Click 'Create Overrides'
Click the module you wish to create the override for
Once created click in to the ./html/[YourModule] folder
The contents of the default.php will be the new output of your module which you can edit to taste.

The hover icon is located on line 130 (edit to taste).

Thanks Ciaran.

Just to confirm - although the overriding file will not be lost during an update, I assume if you release an update targeting the file I've overridden ... the extension will not pick up the new changes from the release ? Is that correct?

Many thanks

Hi Marc

Yes, that is correct. The new changes for this file will not be picked up unless of course the override is removed.
