Hi there,

I've just installed the Image Hover extension to my website, added a few images of differing heights, then set the Layout type to "masonry". Unfortunately both "masonry" and "static" layouts act the same way, with the images simply resizing as if in bootstrap rows/spans. I.e. the masonry layout is not working as in the demo.

Could you please take a look and let me know what the issue is?

Many thanks
Marc

Hi Marc

There appears to be a Javascript conflict which is effecting your module. May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Thank you Marc

As we do not have access to your Extensions Manager, may I suggest the following article on resolving this issue... https://joomla51.com/tutorials/troubleshooting/resolving-javasript-errors-in-joomla-using-jquery-easy. Alternatively you can allow us access to your Extensions Manager and we will carry out these instructions for you.

Hi Marc

The latest version is fine (I believe 2.2.4).

Hello Ciaran,

I've installed the 2.x version and turned on reporting just for this gallery URL. Is that enough for you to diagnose the issue with the extension?

Many thanks

Hi Marc

Excluding the masonry issue, what other issue are you having with the gallery?

Hi Ciaran - I don't believe there are any. I've asked how to change some of the styling in a separate question, but the main reason for purchasing this extension was to have an image gallery with the masonry style.

In my limited use of the extension, several times I have noticed two images merge together into one "block" - not sure if that's expected behavior. However, it's not that important and I'll raise it separately if needed.

Many thanks,
Marc

Hi Ciaran - actually, regarding issues with the Image Gallery. Not issues as such, but there are a couple of changes that would make the extension much more flexible:

- option to select "none" for the hover effect
- option "none" for the link type

The gallery could then be used in many more (simpler) situations, and I expect would speed up the gallery if used on the home page etc.

At a later date, the ability to override the icon would be the "icing on the cake", but that's no so important as the above two items (in my humble view).

Many thanks

Hi Marc

Thank you for your suggestions. We have just updated the ImageHover module (2.0.1) to include the following options as suggested..

+ Add 'None' option to 'Link Type'
+ Add 'None' option to 'Hover Effect'
+ Add imageloaded js to masonry layout (helps with blocks merging issue)

Fantastic Ciaran - thanks so much.

Regarding the updated extension - I've just checked my website and Joomla reports "all extensions are up to date". Do I need to wait for this update to become available, or should I download and manually update. If I manually update, do I need to remove the previous installation?

Thanks again,
Marc

Hi Ciaran - well I decided to try to simply download and re-install the new 2.01 extension. Although I can see the new "none" for the link type, unfortunately, the masonry effect still doesn't work, and there's no "none" option on the hover effect. I've flushed caches, just in case.

Did I upgrade the extension incorrectly?

Many thanks

Actually, I see you've made the change at the individual image level, so for each image you can set link - "none" and hover = "none". That's great, I can work with that.

Unfortunately, however, the masonry effect is still not working. Could you kindly take a look when you have a moment? I'll switch the jQuery Easy back on for this page.

Many thanks

Hello Ciaran,

The administration details I previously sent are still active. However, in case they're been lost, I'll resend then to info@joomla51.com as suggested.

All the best,

Hi Ciaran,

Just wondering if you got a chance to take a look at this masonry issue. My website is live and has been showing a debug window (from Jquery Easy) for one and a half weeks and my customer is complaining.

Many thanks

Hi Marc

Admitedly we have been unable to replicate your issue. I will try from a different IP and machine in the morning. In the meantime, I have disabled reporting on your jQuery Easy plugin.

Hi Marc - thanks for investigating.

The masonry effect does work ... but only with the jQuery Easy is enabled - it corrects the issue. Please see attached, the only difference between the images is jQuery Easy being enabled or disabled. As you can see, when disabled the masonry effect is not working.

I'll leave jQuery Easy disabled for the time being, so you can clearly see the issue.

Many thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc

Are you looking to resolve the issue without using jQuery Easy?
