Images can be uploaded via your Media Manager within your Joomla administration. You can then link to this image using the following URL (presuming you have uploaded the image to the root of your Media Manager)...

Hi, I've taken your advice and have put together a page on our website which allows visitors to lift HTML code and paste it into the backend of their site. Would you be able to have a quick look to see if the code looks OK to you? When I cut and paste them into the backend of our own site they work, but the files are local and I'm concerned that this won't work when someone else tries it. As you are using full URLs to your images I can see no reason why this should not work for you.
