Firstly you will need to remove the padding from the module group in which you wish to place your icons. An option for this is available with the templates parameters (Extensions -> Tempalte Manager -> [YourTemplate] -> Module Widths). You can then simply create an instance of your icons modules using a 4 column layout (http://www.joomla51.com/tutorials/item/setting-up-the-j51-icons).
