Hey all, i am trying to remove the content block from the frontpage entirely. I only want the modules that i have assigned to the homepage to show up. I have no articles assigned to the homepage, yet I have that white strip going across the page where the content would go if I had content assigned. Any help on how to remove this would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance! :)

Hi EnemyBorat

Would you have a URL to an example of your frontpage?

Firstly set your default editor to 'CodeMirror' (Site -> Global Configuration -> Site -> Default Editor).

Create a Custom HTML module by navigating to Extensions -> Module Manager -> New -> Custom HTML

Add any title (disable title), set the position to 'footer' and add the following code to the 'Custom Output'..

<style type="text/css">
#content80, #content100 {
display: none;
}
</style>

You can then assign this module to any page where you don't want the content area to appear.

I'm trying to add removing the content block from the frontpage as an option to my template. In templatedetails.xml I have added:

<field name="showfrontpagearticles" type="radio" label="Show Frontpage articles"
description="Set this value to 1 to show the frontpage, otherwise it will be hidden" default="1"
checked="checked"
class="btn-group">
<option value="0">HIDE</option>
<option value="1">SHOW</option>
</field>

Then in main.php I have replaced the <jdoc:include type="component" style="xhtml" /> line in main.php to this:

<?php $pageview = JRequest::getVar('view', '');
$jb_frontpage = $this->params->get('showfrontpagearticles'); ?>
<!-- Main content hide it on the frontpage -->
<div id="maincontent">
<jdoc:include type="component" style="xhtml" />
</div>
<?php } Elseif ($jbfrontpage="1";) { ?>
<div id="maincontent">
<jdoc:include type="component" style="xhtml" />
</div>
<?php } ; ?>

This is removing almost all the content (including a module in showcase). Any help?

Aha, I had tried this before and it didn't work but I just tried moving this code from the bottom of my custom css to the top and now it works. Not sure why that would make a difference as no other code refers to #container_main. Ended up making it a lot more complicated than it needed to be! Oh well, thanks for the quick help!
