Hello!
In Germany, since January of this year, there have been problems with Google fonts.
I have an old version of the template. I need to install fonts locally. How to do it?
thanks in advance for your reply.

There is a plugin for this. Feel free to try it. You will find it here:

Thanks! However, I have an old template (J51_Substance). There is no folder "inc". What do you advise?

"The last step is the most critical one, because it will be overwritten in case of a template update. I open the file templates/j51_xxx/inc/fonts.php. There I disable the lines with the loop, starting with.."

Hello!
I installed a plugin to remove font links. Deleted all references to googlefonts in the file fonts.php.
But after checking, links to Googlefonts remain. Moreover, if I install templates from Joomla, links to fonts will still be deleted.
What do you advise to do?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Lieber crimle,

Hier muss man oft echte Detektivarbeit leisten :)

Hello,
when I look at the links that are given there in the checker tool, some of the fonts calls are strange.
The link https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/roboto/v18/kfomcnqeu92fr1mu4mxkktu1kg.woff2, for example, produces a 404.

As already mentioned, font calls from third-party plugins may not be completely corrected by the plugin that Crimle suggested. I also had this problem and so did my provider. Here you often have to do real detective work :)

One approach can be to deactivate one plugin or module after the other and see when the page is displayed correctly without external fonts. or go through the CSS files, but that can be a bottomless pit, not fun ;)

We currently have dozens of requests in our agency because of Google Fonts and sometimes it's a sysiphus job....

Regards
Oliver

Hallo Oliver,

Hello Oliver,

I am now using the Joomboost "Easy Local Google Fonts" plugin for several customers and it has been running very confidently for all of them so far.
Some of my extensions now also offer an option to integrate the fonts locally - really very useful.

best regards
