Hey

Google is checking sites to mobile devices.. And I got a fail on sites made with templates from here..

The fail is there a 2 or more clickable near each others.. I think it's the logo and the responsive menu.. I can see the "fail" are fixed in the BOUTIQUE where the menu is placed above the logo. How to do that in the others.. Right now I'm looking at a site made in Renovate

Hello

Our Renovate template appears to be passing the Google mobile test without issue.. https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdemo.joomla51.com%2F0105%2F

Please ensure you are using the latest download of template which should resolve this issue for you.

Hi Ciaran,

I got the same problems described by Kjars. I tried to folow your advise and download the latest release of the templates I purchased. But under "myDownloads" just "J51 - Classic" is listet, while I see in my "purchase history" the templates I bought (Kindle and Renovate).

Am I no longer eligible for an update (Purchase was 2013) or is this a bug?

Thanx,

Michael

Hi Michael

Both the Kindle and Renovate template should be now available for you to download.

Thank´s for the quick reply! I downloaded them and will test the updated templates the next days. Sadly I did a lot of adjustments to the old ones, that I need to reproduce with the updates. I´ll give you feedback if it works.

It seems the issue is not the template.

The issue seems to be the robots.txt file in your joomla installation and not the template itself. In order for Google to be able to render your website properly Googlebot needs access to the JavaScript, CSS, and image files that your pages use.

So the solution provided was as follows. Open your robots.txt file located in your joomla install. Edit as shown in the following image - Joomla robots.txt example changes >>

You simply put a hash tag in front of the css templates and images folders (The hash tag simply comments them out). Now test your site in google again and see if the issue is resolved.

Just a quick feedback: the update of my template fixed the problem with the the touch elements postioned to close.

I also needed to change my robots.txt as JohnO suggested. Works fine now!

Thanx!

Hi kjars.dk

Your membership has expired since October 2014. You can either make a single purchase for each template for lifetime access to that template or start a new club membership subscription.. http://www.joomla51.com/club-membership?category_id=2

Hello

The mentioned subscription was for a single template purchase. A single purchase of a template allows you lifetime access to that single template. Club membership allows you access to all templates for the duration of the subscription.

Hi Ciaran,

I'm having a similar issue with the Clarity template (I think I purchased it with a different e-mail address, so it doesn't appear in My Downloads at the moment). I've updated the robots.txt file which resolved one of the two issues that Google found, however, I'm failing on the "Content Wider Than The Screen" one. Would a template update resolve this?

Thanks,

Euan

Hi Euan

Would you have a URL to an example of this issue?

Thank you Euan

There does not appear to be anything within the template causing this issue. A guess would be your social icons plugin as by default this sits outside the page, only appearing within your page when hovered. Maybe try disabling this extension and see if the error still exists.

Fantastic help, as always.

I wasn't sure about it being an issue with the floating social media slider as the website for my wife's law firm (http://www.weldonmcinnis.ca) has the same plug-in and it passed.

Anyway, I updated the template and bingo, got the thumbs up from Google.

Really appreciate it!

Thanks for also tidying up my purchases (that's the issue with having too many e-mail addresses!) will these always be the latest versions that the download buttons link to?

Best wishes,

Euan B)
