Hi,

I'm hoping you can help me out here; I've been trying to install the most recent download of Oxygen into a Joomla 2.5 site (it was previously running fine on 1.7), but I get the message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object in /home/hopeccwa/public_html/libraries/joomla/installer/adapters/template.php on line 82

The code it refers to is:

$this->manifest = $this->parent->getManifest();
$name = strtolower(JFilterInput::getInstance()->clean((string) $this->manifest->name, 'cmd'));
$client = (string) $this->manifest->attributes()->client;

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Hi waterXrock

Just to confirm that the issue is related to the template, are you having similar issues when installing other templates/extensions?

Hi Ciarán,

A couple of other modules have uploaded ok, but I had the same response when I tried installing the J51_Novation template, too.

Have you tried any non-Joomla51 templates? In truth I am not familiar with the error. It appears to be an issue with yuor Joomla installation rather than the template itself.

It may be worth trying simply uploading the template to the template folder and using Joomlas 'Discover' (Extension Manager -> Discover) tool to install the template.

Hi Ciarán,

I had tried uploading the templates through all the various means available without success.

But it turns out - Yes, you were quite right. It appears the issue is not with the template itself. I tried another (non-J51) template and had a different, but similar, 'Fatal Error' message.

So thanks for your feedback, I'll need to keep looking into this further
