Hi, I discovered with shock now that no menu items work anymore - whatever I click on it refers back to the "Home" site. I have yesterday installed "Coala Web Traffic" - could it have something to do with this? Also there suddenly appeared an article named "404" in the article section which I haven't created.

I checked all menu items, the ordering hasn't changed but it still only shows the "home" site when I click on it. Here the website so that you see what I mean: http://www.mountcampbell.co.nz

Can anybody help me?

Thank you heaps!
Simone

Hi Simone

Have you since amended this issues as your menu items appear to be now linking correctly (test in FireFox)?

Some SEO components will create a 404 page for you when installed. Have you installed any such components lately?

Hi Ciaran,

Yes issue resolved - another person had installed SH404SEF and has since re-installed it which solved the issue. The only other issue I have now is that I don't seem to be able to get the Google Analytics going through SH404SEF - I entered the UA code and the other code but it doesn't count the clicks on the website. But I think this has something to do with Google analytics as it doesn't count it there either so I need to find out what I still need to do there.

Thank you for your help, appreciated like always!
Kind regards,
Simone

Hi Simone

Thank you for the update.

Regarding your analytics code you code try adding the code to your templates index.php (../templates/[YourTemplate]/index.php). You can treat this file as you would a standard HTML file. You will notice 'head' and 'body' tags to which you can add your code accordingly.

Hi Ciaran, That worked out great, thank you so much. I also installed in on the other website I am working on. Now I have to find out how to make my URLs SEF active without bringing the site down immediately (as this is what happened before...) - getting there, after all I am just a beginner in these things...
Thanks again, Simone

Hi Simone

Your welcome.. always happy to help.

When working with SEF URLs remember to rename your htaccess.txt to .htaccess in the root of your Joomla installation. If this causes any issues simply change it back.
