Hello,

using the Oxygen Template (commercial version) under Joomla 3.1.4 (currently localhost) I got the following error messages while pagination ist still functional:

Warning: Illegal string offset 'active' in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla-b\templates\j51_oxygen\html\pagination.php on line 95
Warning: Illegal string offset 'active' in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla-b\templates\j51_oxygen\html\pagination.php on line 101
Warning: Illegal string offset 'active' in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla-b\templates\j51_oxygen\html\pagination.php on line 95
Warning: Illegal string offset 'active' in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla-b\templates\j51_oxygen\html\pagination.php on line 101

As I know this problem can be solved by deleting the "\templates\j51_oxygen\html\pagination.php" to let joomla managing the pagination without interfering with the templates pagination-file.
But... not really satisfying.
My question(s): What changes have to be done if I need to influence the appearance of the pagination? Is the specific file really unusable together with Oxygen Templates?

Thanks a lot in advance and
best regards

Hello

Could you detail for me the specific changes you wish to make to the pagination?

We have recently updated our Oxygen amending the issue with the pagination. May I suggest redownloading your template and installing it to your Joomla installation.

Hi ciaran, thanks for the quick Response!

I did the downloading at Aug 21-2013, is there really a newer version available?

Concerning the shape of the pagination: it would be nice to use round edges instead of the standard ones in the border of the button area (Only an example).
In general, knowing there is an error is unsatisfying and I would like to prevent saying to my customer he better shouldn´t use the pagination-file.

Thanks again

Hello

To change the border radius on your pagination try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

.pagination li:first-child a, .pagination li:first-child span {
border-radius: 8px 0 0 8px;
}
.pagination li:last-child a, .pagination li:last-child span {
border-radius: 0 8px 8px 0;
}
.pagination ul {
border-radius: 8px;
}

Where 8px is your new border radius (3px by default).

Yes our Oxygen template has been updated in the last couple days amending some small issues including the pagination. To update simply install the template install file via your Extensions Manager.

Hi ciaran,

I´m really impressed because of your fast answers.

Updating the template didn´t result in any changings, I still need to deactivate the pagination.php .

Adding your code example to the Custom CSS was a success, thank you for that.

Any other ideas how to solve the problem in a more "basic" way?
There are still some issues concerning the shape of the pagination menu (more distance to the bottom line of the main page, no tooltip while the cursor is above the link area).

Excuse me for the delay, I could avoid running into the problem with the pagination by setting the number of articles per page in the blog view to a higher value.
But now I have to deal with it because my customer included between 300 and 400 articles into the blog view of the site. Currently the system is set to 40 articles per page although we would like to have only 10.

The problem in a summery:

The site uses the breadcrumbs module at bottom-2a position.
The site shows the pagination button area plus the current page number "page X from Y" in the line above the breadcrumbs module (see attachment-1.jpg).
When the number of articles in the system increases there isn´t enough space in the line. As a result the page number is still visible above the breadcrumbs in the same line, the pagination button area moves one line down, now invisible behind the breadcrumbs (see attachment-2.jpg).
Switching off the breadcrumbs isn´t the solution because then half of the pagination button area is vertically outside the content area (see attachment-3.jpg).

The solution (?):
Increasing the site´s width is possible (I found a relating topic available in the forum). I would like to combine this with showing the pagination button area and the page number information in seperate lines above the breadcrumbs module.

Hopefully this explanation is sufficient, my customer don´t want to allow external administrative access.

Hello

Would you at least have a URL to an example of this issue? It is difficult for us to find the cause of the issue with out access to your site source code which is not available with the screenshots.

Thank you
