I've been away from Joomla for several years, so excuse my naivete and/or forgetfulness. I have created a situation where the template my landing page calls ( https://website.com) is different than the one called when I select "home" on my horizontal menue. (https://website.com/index.php/home). The template "home" calls is the one I would like to use sitewide but I am not understanding how to make this happen.

Thank you Grok!

Verify the Home Page Menu Item Settings The “home” page in Joomla is typically set by a menu item marked as the default page. If your landing page differs, it might be using a different menu item or configuration. • Steps:
Log in to your Joomla Administrator panel.
Go to Menus > Main Menu (or the menu containing your home page).
Locate the menu item marked with a star (indicating it’s the default/home page).
Open the menu item and check:
• Menu Item Type: Ensure it’s set to the correct type (e.g., “Featured Articles” or a specific component view for your Joomla51 template).
• Template Style: Under the “Advanced” tab, check if a specific template style is assigned. If it’s not set to your desired Joomla51 template (e.g., “J51_YourTemplate”), select it.
• Page Display Options: Confirm the page title, meta description, and other settings align with your intended home page design.
• Fix: If the menu item is incorrect or points to a different layout, update it to match the desired home page configuration. If no menu item is set as default, create a new one and assign it as the home page.
