Duplicate modules in Fedora Template

Hi Ciaran!

I have a problem that I cannot solve regarding duplicate modules in my web site with Joomla 3.10.6 and Fedora template.

In this category page I added 2 Joomla modules:
https://www.oro**scopoe**tarocchi.it/an**to297/rice*tte-per-do*lci.html --> please delete all "*"

1) DOLCI TIPICI by J51 Carousel --> in position "bottom-1a"

2) LE MIGLIORI RICETTE PER DOLCI by Raxo --> in position "bottom-2a"

I could not add these modules in the article with "loadposition" because they didn't work well from mobile view.

If I see every recipe I may note that there are these 2 modules at the end of every cake recipe.
But I have set up the modules so that they ONLY appear on the category page

In Sh404sef I changed the non sef URL for this category page without success.
I tried to unpublish these modules and the to publish again them without success.

Have you any ideas that can help me solve the problem?

Dear Ciaran

I made a new hidden menu --> I made 13 new menu items
corresponding to the 13 recipes in the category
https://www.oro**scopoe**tarocchi.it/an**to297/rice*tte-per-do*lci.html --> please delete all "*"

I wrote down the ID number for each menu item.

Then I went to Sh404 URL Manager and I chose the nonsef URL with the same ID for every recipe / URL.
The problem is solved!!!

Hi Antonietta

For Joomla to be able to assign/unassign a module on any particular page it requires that the page have a menu item related to it. As I see it your solution would be one of the following..

1. Create a hidden menu. A quick Google search should give you plenty of information on this.
2. Use an extension that gives more elaborate module assignment possibilities. By far the most popular is... https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/advanced-module-manager/

Do you recommend that I create a hidden menu with a menu item for the category page?

or have I to made the hidden menu items also for ALL the single recipes that are linked in the category page?

MY LAST UPDATE:
I made a new hidden menu. I made a new menu item called "ricette-per-dolci" (as category page) but when I saved the menu item
Joomla told me this menu item already exists.
Thus I tried to give another menu item alias called "ricette-dolci" but this link doesn't work.

Hi Antonietta

Try clearing your trashed items if you have any. These items will take up an alias even if the item is trashed.

Dear Ciaran,

thank you for your reply.

I made a new hidden menu called "Nascosto ricette dolci".
I made two new hidden menu items called "Ricetta crema pasticcera" and "Ricetta crostata alla crema di caffè " inside it.

Thus I made these 2 menu items concerning already existing pages:

https://www.oro**scopoeta**rocchi.it/anto297/ric**etta-cre**ma-pasti**ccera.html
https://www.oro**scopoetarocc**hi.it/anto297/ricetta-cro**stata-alla-cre**ma-di-ca**ffe.html --> please delete all "**"

Then I went to module called DOLCI TIPICI by J51 Carousel --> menu assignment TAB --> to take control of the module
called DOLCI TIPICI without success.

Both menu items are unselected and yet the two modules appear equally on their pages.

Do you have any idea?

Hi Antonietta

It is difficult for sure as it is not really my area of expertise. This would be more a general Joomla question rather than a template related issue. Have you tried the Advanced Module Manager extension suggested previously? Did this give you the desired control of your module page assignments?
