Hi,

I am very new to installing Joomla and templates. I have installed it all but feel like I have hit a brick wall because I don't understand how it all works. I have read through the tutorials but there is no 'getting started' basic guide to how to set up a site with this template. I am looking for a step by step approach.

For example, how do I set up the front page and then the different inside pages the way I want them. It all sounds so easy but it just doesn't seem to be.

I would also like to know things like how big the logo size should be to fit properly and how big the slideshow images should be. I can't find that anywhere.

Hope you can help.

Hi Tracy

I realise starting with Joomla can be pretty daunting at first but you will be surprised at how quick you will pick it up :)

Setting up pages in Joomla will always be the same regardless of what template you are using. There is some excellent documentation on the Joomla site on getting started.. http://docs.joomla.org/Getting_Started_with_Joomla!

Following are some other tutorial site I can recommend...

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/joomla-25 (Joomla 2.5)
http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/joomla-3 (Joomla 3.x)
http://www.cloudaccess.net/training/getting-started-joomla-3-0.html

For the logo on our Privliege template we recommend a size of 365px X 165px.

The height of your slideshow images can be that of your own taste however we would recommend your images to match the width the template wrapper (960px).

Many thanks Ciaran.

I found that I didn't install demo data so had nothing to go on. Am slowly working it all out.

best wishes
