Doctrine template that I downloaded 10/14/13
j51_doctrine.zip is dated 12/8/2012
I am using Joomla 3.2.3
Issue appears in Chrome, IE, and FireFox
http://www.calhounsplace.com/sai/
Issue:
The menu items have a blue background for some reason. See above URL.
Also, I do not wish to use social icons and I would like to move the site container area up so that there is not a large gap between the top of the Horizontal menu and top of of browser. How can this be done?

Thank you

Hello

Can you confirm for me that you are using the correct version of your template for your Joomla version. If you are not sure simply install the template install file from the Joomla 3.x folder of your download via your extensions manager.

To remove the spacing above your header try adding the following to the end of your templates nexus.css (../templates/j51_doctrine/css/nexus.css)...

#header {
height: 85px;
background-position: 0 -60px !important;
}
h1.logo {
height: 85px;
}
#socialmedia {
display: none;
}
#hornav {
margin: 5px 0 0;
}

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the j51_doctrine.zip located in Joomla! 3.0 Install files folder. The issue still persists.

I do not have a jstuff.css file. I have checked the install source files including older versions of the Doctrine template and could not find the nexus.css file there either.

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Thank you Larry

I have removed the 'Menu Class Suffix' of ' nav-pills' in your menu modules parameters which has resolved your menu issue. 'nav-pills' is a bootstrap class causing bootstrap to add its own styling.

I have also added the suggested CSS to your template however you site appears to be cached so you will need to clear your server cache to see the results.
