I am unable to install Joomla after uploading the demo installer and going to http://www.yoursite.com/subfolder. I have successfully done this many times with other templates. Could you double check the zip file and make sure there isn't a problem.?

Hi Elaine

I have just rebuilt and tested the demo installer locally without any issues. May I suggest sending temporary FTP access to the root of your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Thank you Elaine

We have set the file permissions of your ../installation and all files in your Joomla root to 755 which appears to have resolved the issue. You can now run your Joomla installation as normal.

The Joomla installation ran as normal, but when I went to Joomla's administrator I was blocked by ERROR 500 - INTERNAL SERVER ERROR. Is this a permission problem also?

Hi Elaine

Most likely this is the case. To resolve try setting the file permissions of your ../administrator/index.php to 755

I got into the back end after changing file permissions of ../administrator/index.php to 755I. The Joomla Update component failed, so I manually updated from Joomla 3.4 to 3.4.3 in cpanel. The next error message related to the enlighten template rather than the journal template:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'InvalidArgumentException' with message 'Could not find template "j51_enlighten".' in /home/webpro/public_html/journal/libraries/cms/application/site.php:537 Stack trace: #0 /home/webpro/public_html/journal/libraries/legacy/error/error.php(785): JApplicationSite->getTemplate() #1 /home/webpro/public_html/journal/plugins/system/redirect/redirect.php(178): JError::customErrorPage(Object(InvalidArgumentException)) #2 [internal function]: PlgSystemRedirect::handleError(Object(InvalidArgumentException)) #3 {main} thrown in /home/webpro/public_html/journal/libraries/cms/application/site.php on line 537

Hi Elaine

I would suggest contacting your server administrator as I suspect this issue is still related to file permissions. You could try downloading and installing a standard Joomla install package (http://www.joomla.org/download.html) and see if the issue persists which would confirm it not been template related.

Do you have an auto installer (via cPanel) on your server for Joomla?

I was having the same problem - with the Enterprise and Revolve templates - with Habitat it worked fine. I was able to use QuickInstall to get Joomla running but I can't seem to install the demo.

I chatted with Hostgator and they suggested the permissions too - which I made sure everything was 755.

Also, I copied the htaccess.txt file from habitat to Revolve just to see if that fixed it and changed it to .htaccess.

Any suggestions on how I can get the demo installed on top of an already installed joomla?

Thanks!

Now I am getting a 500 error even when I try to install the regular package, not the Demo. I noticed when I upload the blank template there seem to be missing files - there is no htaccess file - shouldn't there be?

Hello

As the demo installer is a copy of Joomla with the demo content included in place of the default sample data, it is not possible to install the demo installer to an already existing Joomla installation. For more details on setting up your demo installer may I suggest the following article... http://www.joomla51.com/tutorials/item/setting-up-the-demo-installer

sorry - my comment wasn't clear when I said blank template - I meant the demo.

I was able to get the Habitat demo to work (http://www.portlandyouthsport.org) - I have installed the demo numerous times using several of your templates but for some reason the Revolve and Enterprise ones won't work - I get a 404 error every time, in every browser.

Hello

Just tested both our Revolve and Enterprise demo installers and have been unable to replicate any issues. May I ask at what stage of the install are your receiving the 404 error?

I also cannot get the enterprise demo to install. After I upload the pkg and unzip it, I go to frontend and should be directed to: /installation/index.php
But instead we see:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@charlotteswwwsites.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It is after I unzip the package into the root folder of my domain and go to the front end to start the install. Should I be adding index.php or something like that after the end? I didn't have to do that with any of the other ones - I have installed the demo of habitat at least four times (great template by the way - love it).

so I got into hostgator cpanel and find the file for that website - in this case it was public_html/portlandsportyouthnetwork.com/

I made sure it is in the root folder for that website - not in the folder it was zipped in. I uploaded using both Filezilla and Cpanel. I checked my Filezilla settings to make sure they were the right format the way they are supposed to be in terms of uploading the file.

I go to the front end and I get a 404 error. It's so weird. But it works perfectly fine for the habitat template - because I actually installed that template on that exact domain and it worked great the first time.

I feel like I am missing something and I can't figure out what it is. LOL

I love your templates so anything you can do to help me out would be much appreciated!

Hi Guys

I have updated the Demo Installer for both our Revolve and Enterprise template to the latest version of Joomla (3.4.4) which will hopefully resolve these issues. To obtain simply re-download the template from your 'My Downloads'.

Hello

Are you having a similar issue when installing a default Joomla install using the same method (https://www.joomla.org/download.html)? The demo installer is an exact copy of the Joomla download with one of the sample databases replaced. Any template related errors will not be displayed until the 3rd step of your installation. The fact that you are not getting to this stage would indicate a server related issue.

It was a permissions issue. Thank you!
