Hello.
I am having problems with custom social icons in boutique template.
I am trying to insert a link with a plugin I installed on my website that transform every link in a modal popup.
But if I add to the link something like this: {modal url="http://index.php/123-my-article"}Internal url{/modal} it becomes: http://www.mysite.it/{modal url="http://index.php/123-my-article"}Internal url{/modal} and obviously it doesn't works.

This happen only with social icons; how can I fix it?

Hello

This very much depends on your modal plugin. I suspect it will only work from within a module or component.

Also I am not sure if opening an external URL in a modal is possible with your plugin? IF you wish we can detail for you how to make your social icons open in a new browser window?

Yes, the modal plugin can open external links (and also internal).
It can open links everywhere, I must only insert the "modal" class or the {modal url=""}{/modal} in the link.
It "translates" those words and works itself.

What I'd like to do is to use those custom social icons (as you can now see on http://www.rdcustom.it) as links at the login and the cart of my shop, but I'd like to open a modal or a dropdown module when clicking on them (I don't like header 1 and 2 position because I'd like to make the page as clean as possible.
Now I have modified the social_icons css for show them also on mobile and don't open links on external windows

Hello

One option would be to convert the social icons area to a module position. You can then add the icons using a Custom module, using the markup of your choice. May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will make this conversion for you. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.
