If you look at the tab 'General' and set the tab 'layout options' you' notice that the descriptions talk about widths in 'pixels'. This is true for the 'Template Width', but it says the same thing for both 'SideCol' Widths where there is a '%'-sign to the right of the input box. The latter is correct, the description is wrong.

Not very important, but I wanted to point this out just the same:

This looks to be an issue in all our recent templates
We have a round of updates for all our Joomla 4 templates coming up and I have added this to the list for that update.
