UPDATE: The only two issues remaining are at the very bottom. PLEASE. I need these addressed. The menu is splitting fine now, but I have two other issues that were started in this thread. I can't get this site published until the drop downs show in hornav and there is a mobile menu.

_________________________________________________

I have split the previous post to close the old one off, and so this issue is under it's proper heading. You can abandon post "Colette not displaying on front end".

The menu splitting issue - copied and pasted below, with a new comment added.

Hi Glen

The styling for all menus, with the exception of the hornav menu either side of the logo, is in a vertical list. Considering the number of items in your menu and I assume you would like to hide child levels behind a dropdown, may I suggest using a module extension like... https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/structure-a-navigation/menu-systems/maxi-menu-ck/

Thank you for the menu tip but for language switching I think the maxi-menu will be problematic. I've elected not to use it at this point but sticking to the hornav position which I finally have working.

I have three menus MainMenuEnglish, MainMenuFrench and Main Menu. For now I am using 'main menu' in the hornav position in order for something to display there. The other two will not.

However, the menu is not splitting but is overlapping the logo, and the submenu items are partially hidden behind the banner image. See: http://zenonpark.com/ZenonStage/index.php/en/

Also, how do I set the MainMenuEnglish as default Home. The Main Menu shows the little house icon (default home) and I can't get the default to switch to MainMenuEnglish. Perhaps I don't need this 3rd menu as the 'Main Menu' is also English but I need to switch between English and French and it is not doing so. English is default, but the menu is not switching to French with the switcher. Instead the menu is blank.

Thank you
Glen

Switching to French shows no menu. Thank you so much for correcting the english one for the drop down, and for the mobile menu.

Update. I set up menu assignment and they the menu is showing now. All is well.
Thank you

Hi Glen

It looks like jQuery is not been loaded on your site. To amend, could you try using jQUery Easy which will extend control over the loading of jQUery.

I have loaded jQuery Easy and activated it. No change with the menu so far. What needs to be done?
The list of sub menu items are hiding behind the banner image. Only the first item shows.

Thank you Glen

Installing the latest download of the template appears to have resolved this issue.

Thank you.
1) However, in template styling for menu I temporarily clicked
Convert to Module Position (hornav)
to see what that would do. It didn't display a dropdown, just a menu block with one item listed below the other.
So I switched that setting back off.
Now the dropdown submenu items are appearing behind the banner again. And it is not fixed like you left it.

2) The language switcher isn't switching the top menu to french. Can you advise?
3) The bottom modules are not showing - either base 1a, b or c, or bottom 1a b or c. (#3 Now corrected, but not the menu - see post below)
4) Is there a way to get the modules Top1a, b and c the same height. Max height is not working and padding doesn't appear correctly on other screen sizes. (I need a white background for them to hide the image backgrounds. I left the container a light green to show their variances. )

Hi Glen

1. Would you have a URL to an example of this issue?

2. Try creating a module style for French where you select your French menu and assign the style to French.

3. Ensure to set Advanced -> Module Style to mod_standard in your module settings.

4. To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.top-2 .module {
min-height: 296px;
}

You can see the modules with their images at the bottom of the J3 site.
http://zenonpark.com/index.php/en/

These should be displaying at the bottom of the staging J4 sites, and they were there prior to the template reload.

Update on this issue
Resolved this by clicking convert to module position - No
They appear now. See setting screen capture
But the menu does not show up correctly at the bottom

Hi Glen

2. May I suggest the following article on creating multiple template styles.. https://joomla51.com/tutorials/joomla-basics/creating-multiple-template-styles

3. Have you checked your module menu item assignment? Do these modules display in other module positions?

I tried the french menu for Top 1a and it did not display. What could that mean?

Update:
Got it to display in hornav. See below

When I go back and set the template for convert to hornav menu Yes
Then the language switcher works. (Both French and English are set up for hornav)

The French displays properly now, but I had to unpublish the French Mobile Menu otherwise is was duplicated

The English displays properly now as well (took some fiddling). Also had to unpublish the English mobile Menu - UPDATE: Set Module \ Advance\ Layout - Default and now it displays correctly.

Both however have the submenu items hidden behind the banner. So this is the fix I now need
And please advise on how I should publish the mobile menus without it duplicating on the hornav for the Module Menus

Note:

If I turn this back off, ie convert to hornav menu No, the MAIN menu displays there, but the switcher doesn't work.

When I compare this to how I have things set up in the J3 version of the site, the MAIN menu only has one item in it and that is Home, set to default, language ALL. The English and French menus are both set to hornav. Main Menu unpublished, but also unpublished in the J4 version. Apparently it's supposed to be that way.

To put the TWO remaining question here in one spot

1. Putting the mobile menu in another position displays as a block list instead of a drop down.

With the 2 mobile menus active (for each language) in the hornav position, it breaks the split for the English and French module menus, and duplicates the menus in that position. So currently the staging site has no mobile menu because I have them deactivated.

This wasn't a problem that occurred in J3, as all 4 menus are in the hornav position.

2. The submenu (hornav) items are hidden behind the banner, only the top 1 or 2 are showing. When you reloaded the template for me earlier this was not the case. It didn't happen again until I clicked under general to Convert to Module Position (hornav)

#3 is resolved after some fiddling, but you should know that using the module style border-frame causes the links in that module to not work.

Hello

I have created a template style for each of your languages and your issues appear to be resolved. I have disabled the separate menu modules for mobile as these are not required.

I just noticed that in the french view for this site there is no hamburger menu at 1024px screen resolution, and no language bar at anything below 800 px. for either French or English
https://www.zenonpark.com/index.php/fr/

Also, you set up for me the 2nds template style, and I'm wondering how do I save that from disappearing if I should need to update the template in the future.

Hello

To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.slideout-toggle .fa-bars::before {
color: #000 !important;
}

THe contents of your CSS field will not be affected by a template update.

Code works thank you. Regarding the template, see attached. It's not just the css, you set up a french template for me, so I don't know if it will disappear if there is an update.

Hi Glen

Your template styles and their settings will remain. Updating your template will only update the template files and not affect any settings stored in your database.
