Hi there,

I am using Chimera template to build a multilingual website. Joomla 2.5 Language switcher does not allow to place the flags in horizontal line. It always puts them in block and no matter which module position I use.

Also, is there a way to place the language switcher module on the very top part of the template page, so it is above the logo?

I appreciate your help.
Thank you.

Hi Cerberfun

Would you have a URL to an example of your language flags? May be possible to float your flag horizontally via CSS.

Hello Ciarán,

Unfortunately, I can not provide you with the link as my site is locally based so far. I can provide some images. Here they are.

Could you give me a hunt on how to use custom CSS with your template, please? I am very new to joomla.

Thank you.

May I suggest getting back to us once you have your site on a host. What you wish should be possible via CSS however we would need to be able to view your site.

Ciaran,

I have exactly the same issue. I have enabled multi-language support correctly, since I am able to switch languages, but there appears to be no module position that allows me to place the language switcher in an appropriate position, for example above the search box. Right now I am attempting to add a new module position, but any pointers on where in your template I should be making the modifications to add the new module would be welcome.

Using Bordeaux template.

Hi Halceon

I could detail for you how to convert the search field in to a module position if that would be a suitable area to add your language module?
