Hi Mark

The background of your template is image based so to lighten the background you can lighten the images involved directly. Images for the background are as as follows..

Thanks Cairan, how about the CSS part, as I see that the footer part (where the copy right and footer menu is, does not use the image, cas after changing the image the bg for footer is still dark. also the border for the slider menu seems to be using css color as it is rounded and dark even after i change the picture.
Thanks

For the base/footer of the template we used a slightly transparent dark PNG (http://demo.joomla51.com/0085/templates/j51_specialize/images/trans.png) which sits over the main background image (http://demo.joomla51.com/0085/templates/j51_specialize/images/bg.jpg) giving it that 'tinted' look.

The border of the sliding drop down menu? To edit this add the following to the Custom CSS field within your templates parameters..
#subMenusContainer ul, #subMenusContainer ol {
border: 1px solid #ffffff;}
Where #ffffff is your new border colour.

Hi mark

Would you have a URL to your site?

Be careful when copy and pasting from an external source in to your Joomla article editor that some of the original formatting is not included. Its often good practice to paste in to a simple text editor first (Notepad) to remove any unwanted formatting.
