On the home page, I only want one column to show and the component text to be centered in the window. I cannot get the text to center. If I go to the template manager and adjust the pixel settings to the Side Column A or B, no change occurs.
I have selected Side Columa A, component, Side Column B in the Layout Options of the template.
I am using the drop down menus in Hornav section so I do not need Side columns and I would like to be able to put content in the Component section with more space than seems currently available.
On one or two pages, I will need a log-in module in Side Column A, but for most pages I would like to have text fill the Component section instead of sitting off to the left.

Hope I am explaining myself clearly.

Hi daweser

The component area of your template should automatically extend the full width on any page where no modules are published in the sidecol-a or sidecol-b module positions. There is no need for any changes within the templates parameters to allow this.

I have centered text on the page, yet when I look at the page, the text does not appear centered in the component area.

Would you have a URL to an example of this?

Interestingly I have another article that works exactly as you suggested it would work. The text that I inserted in a paragraph is sufficiently long enough that it fills the component space.
In examining the difference of the 2 articles, the only difference I can notice is that in the article whose text fills the space, none of the alignment boxes is selected, not left, center, right or fill justify. Even if the text is long enough, it fills the Component, but the text is left justified.
In the Home article that does not center, the center alignment box is selected.
In the Location article, the left alignment box is selected.
I have just redone the Home page, deleted everything, pressed the remove formatting button and put all the text back without selecting an alignment box. The text then aligned on the left side of the Component. I then selected the center alignment button and the text centered in the article content window, but when going to the page, refreshing, the text is still sitting on the left side of the Component and not centering.

Unfortunately, I cannot send a URL as I am redoing my site on localhost. I had to redo the site because the live site is running on Joomla1.5.26 and I have been urged to update to 2.5 which I am now doing. I could send jpg capture of the page and I notice that there is an attachment box.

By the way, I am going to pay for this template even though it is free because I am so impressed with its design and all the help you have been giving.

Appears to think that there is still a module published in the sidecol-a or sidecol-b module positions. Does temporary disabling all modules in your module manager make any difference to the component area?

I have looked at the Main Menu under the Module Manager.

I do not see where I can temporarily turn the Main Menu module off.

The odd thing is that this page is working and I am looking at the perameters of both pages in order to try to figure out what the difference might be.

By default the top menu is not module position.

It's difficult to say what may be causing the issue without access to your site so all I can suggest is to get back to us once your site is accessible.

I have the site live now. Is there a secure place I can send the admin access so that you can have a look at what might be causing the home page not to center.

I obviously do not want to post admin access here.

thanks

I will send an email as soon as the back end is functioning as it should. I cannot make any changes at the moment until the permissions issue gets sorted out.

Will be in touch.

thanks

Thank you for granting us temporary access.

The main content div was only extending to the width of your text and as no text reached the full width of the template wrapper it wasn't centering to the full area available. We amended the issue by adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters..
#content_full {width:100%;}
Thank you very much.

I really appreciate all the help you have made in getting this template to work efficiently.

I certainly will consider using some of your other templates if I get a chance to help others out by building a web site for another charitable organization.

I am retired and so do not have the pressure to earn income from this venture. I just like to help others out with their solutions.

All the best.
