Can't remove date, or icons

I am unable to remove the date of the articles. I tried using the global configuration as well as the article parameters. They how the hide button but do not remove the items. Have tried numerous times. What can I do?

Have you tried disabling the date within the menu item settings linking to your article?

I did not know that the date was also on the menu item setting. I disabled it and it works fine.
