I recently added an favicon.ico file to my template so that an icon would show next to the bookmark toolbar icon for my webpage. However, I noticed that this also incorporated the icon in the tab. My issue is that the two icons aren't the same. I want the one in the tab to be on the bookmark (see attached picture). Does anyone know how to get these to work in unison?

Thanks!

Well I can't seem to post the picture so my website is: http://maumeevp.org

Hi Sara

Have you tried opening your site in a new browser, one in which you haven't opened the site in before? It is likely that one of these icons has been loaded from cache. For a new user to your site the issue won't exist.

Actually, I have CCleaner which I ran to see if the cache was cleared which it was. This issue is in Firefox. I can't even get the icon to appear in IE. Haven't tried Safari yet.

Hi Sara

On opening your site we are getting a blue 'M' over a 'V' with a cross between them. We are getting the same icon as a bookmark.

Note that clearing your internet cache does not clear the cache for your browser favicons.

Wow, that's great. I wonder why mine shows differently. Either way as long as visitors are getting the same thing then all is well. Thanks for checking it out.
