Hello Ciaran,

1) Do you use your own templates for your website? HA.. I know you do..

2) Awhile back a Kunena developer assisted me with installing my forum for me. but now that I look my bbcode toolbar does not display nor my smileys.

3) I'm back customizing the site.. was able to get the background same as other pages. I saw an inquiring on their forum about BBcode Toolbar not displaying on Beez3 template. Well I submitted the same inquiry... one of the support personnel is asking me if I am using Beez3. I want to tell them I'm using Joomla51 but are they knowledgeable about it?

4) I installed Mootools extension (probably didn't need to but I did). I see you use it.. with Joomla51 template and since this is my primary go to templates.. can you give me some direction to get this to display?

Thank you very much.

April

Hi April

They do have a point however having it uninstalled will not cause you any issues. The template will only ever be loaded if you assign it to a menu item. You can remove it but unless you wish to just clean up your template manager, there is no real need.

Would you have a URL to an example of your forum?

Ciaran,

I figured it out.. and it was an oversight on my part.. my apologies.. But what do you think about the issue re: Beez3 vs Protostar? Can I uninstall Beez3 or should I?

Also not sure why my forum sits in the middle of the template defined by S-C-S -
SideCol-A Width (%) = 100 (so I can get the fullsize)

I want it to flush far left, leaving some room on the right so I can use for display purposes. Any suggestions.. thanks

Hey Ciaran,

Thanks for replying to me.. . so you will see why I have no idea where to begin.. I added a Mootools extension.. but don't think it worked. They also told me to disable different components, and plugins one at a time, to see if there is a conflict.. OMG WHY? ... Thanks

The Kunena professional support told me this about Beez3.

In my opinion, the Beez3 template is probably one of the worst templates "developed"—if I could stretch the meaning of the word—for J! 3.x. That's just my opinion, of course.

I don't want to debate about whether the Beez3 template is the "best way" for you to test a Joomla website. I am aware that the Beez3 template has not been maintained or modified by the Joomla developers for 2 years (or possibly more) and, given the current state-of-play and Beez3 template's history of problems, I would suggest to people who are just beginning their Joomla "journey" to start with the J! 3.x Protostar template. Again, that's just my opinion, of course.

Although the developers have made a lot of effort to ensure that Kunena works with the "standard" Joomla templates, the Beez3 template is known to be "buggy" (i.e. defective) and problematic. As far as I know—I could be wrong and I'm happy to be corrected by the developers—Kunena is not tested with Beez3.

Hi April

1. Yes we use our own template for Joomla51.com :)

2./3. I believe this to be a component issue rather than a template issue. It might be worth testing your forum using Beez and see if the issue is still present to confirm.

4. Presuming you are using Joomla 3.x, our templates no longer use mootools. In Joomla 3 mootools has been replaced by the jQuery library.
