Background Video field

Hey Ciaran,

Just a question :)

In the template options you can choose a background for the different modules.

Teamplates --> Joomla 51 Teamplate --> General --> Modules/Component Styling

Top-1 Background Image
Top-2 Background Image
Top-3 Background Image
…

Would it be conceivable that you create a "Background Video field" for future templates?
So that it`s possible to place a simple video as a module background.
For Example: https://stock.adobe.com/at/video/acquisti/17309071

I bought the extensions from joomlaux. The jux background video looks good. I now have to play around with it :)

Hi Chris

A quick update. Unfortunately, Joomla's media field type which is used to select images does not support video file types. It is therefore not possible for us to include an option to select video for the module backgrounds without the use of a 3rd party extension.

Hey Ciaran,

mov would be great! I have an account on Adobe Stock and most videos are in mov format.

But I can convert the video. There are many tools for that. That would be no problem.

Thank you for thinking about it. This feature would be really great :)

Hi Chris

The option is not there at the moment but it is something we will certainly look in to. Would you have a preference on video file type (eg. mp4, mov etc)?
