Hi

I am using the Natalie template and there is an issue when adding the Full Article Image. The image shows using the default Joomla Cassiopea template. When using the Natalie template the text and image are not showing. If the image is inserted into the content is is displayed correctly.

This is quite urgent as the site should go live after the weekend.

Not sure if it may be related to this post from Tuesday this week which I am still awaiting for an answer on?

Thanks

Dave

Hello

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Thank you

This issue should be now resolved. It seems Joomla by default sets a left class on the image if the Image Class field is left blank which is not supported by this template. I have set the class center and the issue is now resolved.

Hi Ciaran

Sorry this has not resolved the issue. If I add left or right the page is as per my previous query.

I have left the test page with the image set to left using the Cassiopea template.

Thanks

Hi Dave

As mentioned, the Natalie template does not support a left or right class as the image is displayed in the header full width.

Hi Ciaran

My understanding is that the article image option is part of the Joomla core and has been there for years. I like your templates and now have 3 of them but I do not understand why a core feature is not supported in a template. Many people use the article images for blog/category layouts, omitting it for what ever reason seems a bit odd.

I am very disappointed.

Thanks

Hi Ciaran

just as a further note. I have tried the Nina template and the image will not align left or right with that either. :(

I can possibly add CSS but from an end user point of view this is not an ideal solution.

Hi Dave

A couple of things...

Most importantly, I will create an update for the Natalie template that the image will only be rendered in the header if the field class is blank.

Up to Joomla 3, there was an alignment option however Joomla 4 replaced this with a class field. Essentially, Joomla just renders this class in the markup for the image. It is up to the template to define what classes are available and how they style the content.

Hi Ciaran

thanks for the reply. I look forward to the update.

I have noticed that if I use float-end or float-start the page does display without the image and the position #container_top1_modules shows in desktop. I have a module that displays in mobile only for that position, seems a bit odd as well.

Thanks

Hi Dave

I have just created an update for this template which disables the header image if a class is set. Setting something like float-start pe-2 (image floated to left with padding) should give you the desired result with this update.
