Hi
I downloaded the kindle t/l the other night and love it.

How can I access the help files here please? I see them referred but don't know how to access them direct. For instance, my articles loaded into a template don't display but just give the button to open the article. Im still new to joomla - this is week 2 - and don't want to bother the forum with really stupid questions. And I know the stupidest question is the one you don't ask, but really.....try me.....

I got it sorted but it was a bit of a long way round.
You can see the result in nice http://here.co.uk/about us.
My sisters bio I did using an article in the usual way, but I couldn't get my photo on the same article. When I did a module with my fizzogg on it the text was cramped up against the photo so I put my picture on a transparent background and loaded it up as a .png. It looks OK now but I will be adding other artists on as well soon so would like to know if anyone can tell me the proper way to do it.

Ok.. I think I see the problem.

What you actually have is two modules above and below the component/article area. Your article area is actually completely empty. To make this easier to explain I'll go right from the beginning, ignoring the 'About Us' page you have already created (you can disable this)..

If you haven't already done so create the article for your 'About Us' page. Go to Content -> Article Manager -> New. Add your Article content and title and click save.

Next you create a menu item linking to this article by navigating to Menus -> [YourMenu] -> New. Select Articles -> Single Article from the Menu Item Type field. Then select the article you have just created using the Select Article field.

Hit save and your done :)

I know it can be a bit confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, it will all make sense and seem very simple!

Thank you Ian

Have you since amended this issue as you appear to be now showing your article in your about page?

Hello

How you articles are viewed would largely depend on the type of menu item you are using to link to them. Would you have a URL to an example of only the 'read more' button appearing for your articles?
