Greetings,

while tweaking the site, I discovered that all of my few extensions are Joomla 3 compatible and given that also this template is compatible, tried to test an upgrade using the internal tool.

Something went wrong and now I see an error on the home page. All the other templates are working well.

Test site: http://www.new.papermakeit.com

Many thanks
Claudio

Hi Claudio

You appear to be still using the Joomla 2.5 version of the template. A separate install file is used for Joomla 3 which you should find included with your download.

Ops! My big mistake... I thought the same file could be used for both release of Joomla. I'll upload the other template then...

I'll keep you updated. Many thanks, Claudio

I uploaded the template and received an error... :(

ok, so. Do I have to uninstall the 2.5 tempate before uploading the 3.x template?
Do I lose the configuration as it comes with Demo installer?

What's the best way to proceed and keep all configurations?

Many Thanks
Claudio

Hi Claudio

To upgrade firstly download a copy of your template folder as a backup (../templates/j51_arkadia). You can then delete this folder on your server, extract the Joomla 3 template install file and upload replacing the original.

i have now three default styles as Arkadia and the system doesn't let me delete two of them. The home page is assigned to template but the home page is fully blank. I'm lost... :(

Many thanks

Hi Claudio

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine these issues further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Thank you Ciaran,
but this night I opted for a radical decision: I created a new subdomain and started from scratch directly with Joomla3. than I installed Arkadia template. I have to configure again it and it is not easy but step by step I'm reaching the results.

I'll keep you updated.

Many thanks,
Claudio
