Hello.. I am baaacccckkk.. Miss you guys.. I have a question.. been trying to find the best method of application.. forgot I could ask here. So I am using Cashmere & Privilege which I love.. I have a page that I want to use a template with only html coding. I'm just a bit confused as how to merge this with this joomla template. I'm going to try:

1) Duplicate the original template (cashmere) for the page, then copy and paste html code. Except it has many files such as css, index, images, etc.

2) create an article, insert index html ..

I don;t know.. any suggestions. I'm also previewing the tutorials for these templates, but they are not html.. I use html code all the time, but its not for a template. Thanks in advance

april

Do I get you right? You want to turn the template Cashmere&Privilege into plain html?
This won't work by copy and paste.
You will have to rewrite the page in html and I'm not sure if a plain html page in Joomla is possible at all.
And by doing so you will loose all interactive and variable content of the template. Not to mention that a lot of the design won't be possible in html.

Hi April

You could try placing your static page within a sub folder from your site root including all need files and try simply linking from Joomla using an external URL (eg. http://www.yoursite.com/example/index.html).

OK, I'm feeling stupid... drawing a blank after creating the subfolder.. . I honestly do not know what to do from here.. weird because I create an external menu item but don't remember what I did afterwards. I'm using a duplicate template and can't figure out how to create, insert files .. for the page, etc.. Thanks

Hi April

I think both Internetional and myself may be misunderstanding what you wish to achieve here. Are you trying to simply add some HTML within a page of your current template? Link to a completely separate HTML page? Copy your current site in to a static HTML page?

Yea, probably more of what Internetional is describing.. Oh well I tried.. I'm designing with Privilege for this particular site and I wanted one of the pages to use an html template design. Well it's not that bad, I guess.. I'm moving forward and designing the page with the same images, background and popping them into modules and articles.. I can create the same design this way.

It would have just been nice to pop in the entire html template and have it work for me. I think it's weird that there are no converter extensions to receive html code.. that would change to php, etc. OH well..

Thanks again..
