Hello Ciaran,

I've spent at least 2hrs surveying my template files, database files trying to remove these ????. I have no idea what these are.. think they have something to do with the blog posts. I once had them when trying to use certain modules for social media sliders. Those are gone, and these are left. Used firebug, and I get this

"<div class="leading-0 clearfix" itemtype="http://schema.org/BlogPosting"; itemscope="" itemprop="blogPost">"

I'm not using blogs on this home page.. on and it adds large spaces between modules above and below.

Thanks

P.S. this is what I was trying to get rid of before when my page went awry and unable to access it.

Hi April

I cant really say for sure without knowing exactly what was clicked however creating overrides would effect the output of your modules. For further details on this topic may I suggest the following article.. http://jure-stern.si/blog/module-overrides-and-how-to-use-them-in-joomla/

Ciaran,

I think I know what happened. OK, I was viewing "Template Manager: Customise Template". I was viewing the Module files on the side.. and I remember I clicked on one, thinking it would open.. I noticed a message something about "module override" and I kept thinking what is that? So I did it again.. :silly: :silly: and again. so it was duplicating the module right? Lord.. when I'm done I should be a Joomla expert with all of the mistakes and risks I have taken.

I found the override, I think.. and I need to remove it.. I think? Your insight is very much appreciated. Thanks

Ciaran,

Yes, I have edited and edited and edited while learning how to create additional template positions to hold my widgets - hopefully? Why can't I find them? OK, I'm going to look in the main.php? But, I thought I was only editing the template index.php.. who knows.. I will check. Thanks

Hi April

Would there be a possibility that you mistakenly created 3 blank modules in this position?

Have you edited your templates main.php from the default?

Ciaran,

Yes, this removed the display, but it shows up when online as well. As stated the one assigned module appears three times, under one another.. I have no idea what I've done.. but, I see this in my code three times.. there is much more.. just showed what I thought would give u an idea of what it can be.

<div id="container_main" class="container"><div class="wrapper960">
<!--Setting up Layout for MainContent and Side Columns. Check to see if modules are enabled or disabled in the sidecolumns-->

<div id ="main" class="block_holder">

<!--Side Columns Layout-->

<!--End Side Columns Layout-->

<!--Find Content width and show component area-->
<div id="content_full" class="side_margins">

<!--Modules ContentTop-->

<!--End Modules ContentTop-->

<div class="maincontent">
<div class="message">
<div id="system-message-container">
</div>

</div>
<div class="blog-featured" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Blog";>

Thanks

Hi April

They appear to be your article edit options? Are they only displayed when you are logged in to your site? If these are something you would sooner not have across your site you can try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

.btn.dropdown-toggle {
display: none;
}

Hey April, I do not work with J51 nor do I want your admin information, I simply would like to take a look at the site you are working on so I can view the source around those dropdowns ;)

arconis,

No they do not appear when the site is live.. but there is a gap, space between my modules. The site is not live.. I'm not sure you work with Ciaran (Joomla51), not too comfortable giving access to my back-end. All I know is they were not there before I tried to use a few extensions. Thanks for ur help

Hey April, would it be possible to get a link from you?

Also, do these only show when logged into the site?
