This is the first time this has happened to me on two separate websites that I have installed a clean version of J3.36 and a demo installer of Central and Alexis. When I try to modify the default template by either something simple as turning the logo off or setting a different example style to default it does not show the changes on the live site. I have tried clearing the cache, restarting the browser and logging out. It is probably some default setting in the config that I am not seeing..

Hello

The 'default' template style will only be used if no other template style is assigned to a particular page. If the default template style is not been used on a page then that implies that one of your other template styles is assigned to that page.

Yes I have multiple templates because I used the demo installer. If I set example style 3 as my default template and then go to the home page and select example style 3 it brings it up with my modifications. My issue is I cannot get the site to load the default template I select. The only way to access it is to select it from the home page of the site and chose it from the list. Is it set in the global settings to view only the default template when you setup a site using the demo installer?

Hello

Have you multiple template styles on your site (Extensions -> Template Manager)? If so ensure that you are editing the correct template style for the pages you wish to edit. This is the most common cause of template changes not reflecting on a frontend page
