Thank you for the response. I added the code to the custom CSS and changed the transparency of the modules and it worked OK.
However, where I have a drop down menu the background works ok on the parent menu but when I select the drop down menu the bg image disappears.
When I then select another parent menu the bg image re-appears.
Can you please advise what may be done to correct this

You could try setting the transparency of each module block background to 0 and add the following to the Custom CSS field...

(edit to taste)..

.body_bg {

    background-image: url(#);

    background-attachment: fixed;

    background-size: cover;

}

Replace # with the url to your image.
