I use the same News module on the Home page and on the News and Events page on this site under development:
https://www.deniset3.sg-host.com/ and
https://www.deniset3.sg-host.com/news/news-and-events

When Read More is clicked on the News module on the home page, all the home page clutter stays in place and the expanded article is way down the page.
When Read More is clicked on the News and Events page, the expanded article is placed at the top. How can I get the Home page to behave like the other?

Thank you!

Peter

Thank you Ciaran. I was not using an article in the component position of the home page, just modules, so I inserted an article and put all the modules into the article {loadposition } except the news module. Now it works fine.

Thanks for your very swift response!

Hi Peter

Assuming I understand you correctly, this is how Joomla handles module assignments. For Joomla to be able to assign/unassign a module on any particular page it requires that the page have a menu item related to it. If no menu item exists the module assignment of the parent page is used. As I see it your solution would be one of the following..

1. Create a hidden menu. A quick Google search should give you plenty of information on this.
2. Use an extension that gives more elaborate module assignment possibilities. By far the most popular is... https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/advanced-module-manager/
