Yes it should be possible to add most bootstrap components without any issue to any Joomla 3.x template. Note that Joomla 3.x uses Bootstrap 2.3.2 (http://getbootstrap.com/2.3.2/). When adding the bootstrap markup ensure to use your CodeMirror editor.
